2010 Chardonnay

The 2010 Chardonnay is a golden straw colour with a chartreuse hue, and a nose of citrus with nectarine and ripe stone fruit. The palate is rich and textural with a long finish displaying notes of white fleshed nectarine with mealy notes from extended barrel maturation.

Fruit: 100% Chardonnay

Vineyard: Grown on the dry alluvial outwash of our home block in Creston BC, This Chardonnay was selected from Zone 3. The 2010 vintage struck an optimal balance between flavour, ripeness and acidity producing a Chardonnay showing finesse and varietal character.
Harvest Data: Fruit was harvested at optimum flavour and ripeness. All the grapes used for this wine were grown using sustainable practices.
Vinification: Hand harvested fruit and whole bunch pressed with oxidative handling and no use of preservative, the wine was cold settled, then racked to French Oak barriques for fermentaion. Fermented with burgundian isolates with 100% of the wine going through malo-lactic fermentation.
Wood Percentage: 25% new French Burgundian fine-grained oak with the balance being seasoned French oak from Allier and Vosges forests.
Bottling: The wine was bottled on November 1, 2011. 1200 bottles were produced.

Colour - Golden straw with a chartreuse hue.
Aroma - Citrus with nectarine and ripe stone fruit with oak and spice .
Palate - A rich textural palate with long finish displaying notes of grapefruit, white freshed nectarines and mealy notes from extended barrel maturation.
