2010 Gewürztraminer

The 2010 Gewürztraminer is straw with a green hue in colour, and aromas of lifted notes of rose petal, exotic spices, musk and ripe sweet fruit. The palate is rich with a long finish and great balance displaying notes of Turkish delight, wildflowers, lychee and perfume.

Fruit: 99% Gewürztraminer, 1% Schoenburger

Judge Ratings: This wine has not yet been rated, released March 2012.

 

Vineyard: Grown on a combination of the dry hillside of our Creston Valley Vineyard and zone 1 of the home block.

Harvest Data: Fruit was harvested at optimum flavour and ripeness. All the grapes used for this wine were grown using sustainable practices.

Vinification: Hand harvested fruit, destemmed and crushed with a selection, the wine was cold settled and fermented cool to retain its primary profile. Completely tank fermented with all inoculated directly with Alsatian yeast isolates.

Wood Percentage: no oak use on this wine

Bottling: The wine was bottled on December 2, 2010. 1300 bottles were produced.

Colour - Straw with a green hue.

Aroma - Lifted notes of rose petal, exotic spices, musk and ripe sweet fruit.

Palate - A rich textural palate with long finish and great balance displaying notes of Turkish delight, wildflowers, lychee and perfume.
