Winemaker Wes Johnson took over managing the winemaking at Baillie-Grohman in December 2014 after returning from New Zealand having completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Oenology from EIT in Hawks Bay. He had been hands on in our vineyard since 2007 and in the winery from 2009 until leaving to earn his degree. Coming back and taking over the winemaking at Baillie-Grohman was very natural for him. Wes can be found in New Zealand learning and exchanging ideas working at wineries during their fall harvest which occurs March, April, and May. Is he really working or … hmmm.
